I have set up a P5S-MX SE mother board. Everything has gone well except I am
left with a message:
"The procedure entry point ?DDrawSupportGetDriverName@CSiSEsc@@AEHPAD@Z could
not be located in the dynamic link library SiSApCom.dll"

For that reason I have run the MB drivers and applications CD several times
thinking that something is wrong there - all to no avail-

Does anyone have an answer to that, Please

The code in question, is in the SIS video driver. I downloaded the
driver from the Asus web page. This is what I found.

2K_XP\utilDLL

03/06/2008 10:25p DIR .
03/06/2008 10:25p DIR ..
03/06/2008 10:06p DIR 9xBin
04/11/2007 03:05a 36,864 keyhook.exe
04/11/2007 03:06a 20,480 LCDMode.exe
03/06/2008 10:06p DIR ntBin
04/11/2007 03:04a 135,168 SiSApCom.dll
04/11/2007 03:06a 65,536 SiSHook.dll Hot keys for screen control ?
10/07/2005 03:13p 118,784 sislib.dll Some kind of AGP speed test ?
10/07/2005 03:13p 1,663 sislib.ini
04/11/2007 03:24a 30,928 sisvb.dll SIS video bridge controlling library
04/11/2007 03:06a 110,592 TVMode.dll

I found a match for DDrawSupportGetDriverName in the TVMode.dll file.
If it was my machine, I'd have a look around, to see where SiSApCom.dll
was installed, and see if TVMode.dll was next to it in the same directory.

I don't know exactly what the cure might be, but those files will have
something to do with it. It is possible one or more of those .exe files,
might be run as a service, or even be running all the time (as seen in
Task Manager when you press ctrl-alt-delete).

Thanks - I admire your technical knowledge, very good indeed. I have both files
in the systems32 folder. I seem to remember that there was a mention that if
something did not work to just install the drivers again - well I did that 3
times and it still does not work -

I suppose rather than creating a lot of work, I might see if I can get Asus to
send me a CD that works or else put up with something where I really cannot see
what is missing.

Thanks
