Default PAL TV out on NVIDIA geforce2 MX / MX 400 with XP

After installing XP with my NVIDIA geforce2 MX 400, and installing the
latest driver (4.4.0.3), I thought I am all fresh and ready to use my
TV out, to record some hands on tutorial on VHS tape. You can guess
that it didn't work. Looking through newsgroups I discovered I'm not
the only one in this.
The problem was to have the card opperate in PAL format. It kept
switching back to its default NTSC.

What I tried to acheive was, having my display cloned to TV out in
PAL.

Here is what worked for me:

1. Boot the computer while TV is connected.

2. In the Display Properties click advanced, and select the GeForce2
TAB.
A strange window should pop to the side of the tabbed window. Click
the nView Display Mode. Click the Device Settings -- Select output
device -- Advanced.
Change Format to PAL or whatever you need.
What happens now is that the main image on the monitor is lost, and
you get your XP Desktop on the TV out only.

3.Looking at the TV, switch to CLONE.

That is it.

When I tried to switch to CLONE and then change to PAL it wouldn't
work.

Hope that helps anyone
