Default No DVI signal - ViwSonic VP930b

This is a on going problem

Some sections taken from another site to hopefully aid in the solution of
this problem..

As of today, 03 May 04, Dell has closed the discussion forum regarding the
DVI power save problem from further posts. They have an official FAQ
addressing the issue here.

Their official fix is the DVI Recover utility, which they have mode
available by contacting them. For those not interested in waiting, here it
is. The zip file contains the floppy and CD versions. the instructions are
available in their official FAQ.

and for a really good explanation....

anyway - I downloaded the .zip file - created the bootable floppy using the
..exe program and a blank diskette, closed the computer down, rebooted with
the floppy in - black screen, of course, in dvi mode, waited 5 minutes, took
disk out, rebooted -and voila - my ASUS Motherboard screen was there and
everything is perfect!!....

I have burned to CD. But every time I try and restart the computer.
It says to put in a valid startup disc ?
My original setting in the bios start up are.

1st - Floppy (but my computer does not have one)
2nd - HDD-0
3rd - CDROM
Boot other device (Enabled)
Bootup floppy seek (Enabled)

I changed it to
1st - CDROM
2nd - none
3rd - none
Boot other device (Disabled)
Bootup floppy seek (Disabled)

How can I get the settings so that it will run the program off of the cd
drive.
I have a
Viewsonic VP930b LCD monitor
But it says in the settings the below info
http://home.insightbb.com/~thediecastpage/viewsonic.jpg

The motherboard is a ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe

The video card is a eVGA 7800CS CO

Any help to get back my DVI would greatly be appreciated..

hmm....motherboard - forgot what setting??..mine is the A7N8X and i didn't
change any settings when i switched cards..

monitor ---let me see neither the 7800 GS or the back up card seem to be
outputing digital signal ..not sure that is correct...afterall, it did
output digital signal to the non-viewsonic monitor..

did you figure out which was your bootable drive??..i still have a thought
that the dVI utility has not run propertly on your monitor...see the above
posts and decide if you want to download the EID writers..

from below..

Using the Phoenix reader/writer my byte 20 says OE same as yours...

now using the viewsonic....my byte 20 says 0E same as yours...

and using the Monitor Asset Manager - it shows 2 different EDID -one with
byte 20 as 0E and the other as 80....

so is one for the analog mode and the other for the digital??

here is the Monitor Asset Manager...slightly edited to omit personal info..

Mine is below

OK

below are my setting from the info
Here is a link to my start up bios.
http://home.insightbb.com/~thediecas...viewsonic5.jpg

I am not sure what setting I should try to do the CD start up. I have tried
both cd's with no luck. If there is some way to get the EDID to be correct
with your setting I would be willing to try it.. Does the EDID program have
the capabilities of modifying the settings ?
