The PureVideo decoder ( MPEG-2 decoder ) will deinterlace MPEG-2 SD and HD
video and it'll do it with low CPU utilisation. It won't work for any other
type of video AFAIK at the moment.

I have an Athlon 64 2800+ ( 1.8 Ghz ) and for 1080 MPEG-2 HD TP clips, the
purevideo decoder does all its magic with like ~40% CPU most of the time
with occasional spikes upto 60%.

Hi All,

What's needed to deinterlace HD video (1920*1080i 30fps) with hardware
acceleration ?

TrueVideo nvidia decoder (yes)
what version of nvidia driver ?
what card ?

I have a 5900 on a P4 2.6, average CPU load is at 60 % with hardware
acceleration but with no deinterlacing (it does'nt work even if it
appears enabled on the decoder control panel).

WIth media player classic in software mode with proper deinterlacing,
picture is good but at 100% CPU it stutters.

TIA.
