In situations like this, I would too say d-a-r-m-i-t! New drivers, thats
scary. Did it by any chance work with the old drivers? Are they the official
ATI drivers? I had crap not working with the latest ATI drivers. Someone in
the newsgroup have me this...

It's an alternative to the official ATI drivers which are troublesome,
partially due to the default settings. Worth a try.
Well I did try older drivers, down to official ATI 3.7, I also tried
the 4.1 and 4.2, official ATI and Omega, none of them resolved this
issue.
