Huh? With APIC selected in bios XP gives you 23 IRQ's. XP handles IRQ
addressing just fine. What OS do you recommend we run our games on?



Those additional irqs are based on irq-sharing(!) - these are not
physically(hardware) irqs.
That's, for one, why XP is troubled this much and slooow as well. Technically
that irq thingy is ok for slower devices but share same irq between video and
audio and you'll see what I mean. I wonder why the industry is not going to get
something decent on their drawing-table. 64 true (hardware) irqs would be
sufficient for the near future - however, the cpus would need to be altered as
well to handle 64 irqs - far east too dumb to get it going? Instead the whole
industry still sticks to Dos limitations! - our hardware industry is constantly
making a fool of us users by not developing further instead sticking to
far-outdated technics.
