Hello,

I'm sorry to post this here but my news server for some strange reason

does
not list a newsgroup for Intel motherboards! If someone can direct me

to
such a newsgroup I'll be glad to repost there instead. However, maybe
someone on this newsgroup can still help:

***

I just received a new Intel D865-PERLL motherboard from an online vendor
(www.micer.com). On their website for this product it states:

AA C27646-211 or later, supports IntelŪ PentiumŪ 4 Extreme Edition and
Prescott CPU Processors.

However, when I received the board it was an AA C27646-210. Does anyone
know what the difference is and if it still supports Prescott and

Extreme?
I've looked all over the Intel site but have been unable to locate any
information pertaining to the actual differences. I did find that the

210
and 211 have a different BIOS but it doesn't tell what the difference

is.
Could it be that the only difference is in the BIOS and that simply

updating
to the latest BIOS negates any differences between the boards? Any
explanatory links would also be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ray Mitchell
