When either system boots up, it thinks that it is
the C: drive, and the other drive is E: or F: or
whatever. So when editing the boot.ini file with
the "old" system booted up, its boot.ini file is
under the C: root, and the "new" system's boot.ini
file is under the E: or F: (or whatever) root.
