1GB of RAM is overkill. 256MB will do just fine for a while. Get
512MB if you want to look to the future. When I jumped to 1GB of RAM,
I noticed no difference whatsoever. The jump from 256MB to 512MB was
negligible.

The video card depends on what games you're going to play.
