Probably a broken gear, just maybe something like the pump mechanism
which is driven from the paper feed rollor - unless of course you
dropped something inside.

Got to appreciate it really is difficult to say with out looking, the
reason I suggested the above is that I am assuming it is a cyclic
noise rather than a random click, clues like this would help.
