Possible trick which I've seen work in the past with some other
programs, not necessarily winDVD

You don't say how many drives you have in your system, and which bus
the DVD is connected to, but if it's on it's own on the secondary IDE,
try changing it from master to slave, or vice versa.

Then go into the bios, autodetect your drives, then go into windoze
and see if that's any better.
