Did the very good suggestion made by 'Conor' work? The must likely
explanation for what happened to your system is that you dislodged the
display adapter in the socket on the motherboard, and reseating it, as
'Conor' suggested is all you need to do to restore proper operation.

Try it, and report the results here.
