Have them installed here and just been playing ET, can`t say if they are
better than the last but they are not worse, glxgears are about the
same,
picture quality about same ( AA@2, Anisotropic@2, vsync off ).

MSI G/Force FX5600 256meg

is it the same on RedHat LINUX 9.0? i can't say that my performance is
really better than before. i can't even play "Tux-Racer"!

If you uninstalled the XFree86-Mesa-libGL package before installing the
nVidia drivers, reinstall it. Tux Racer and Chromium do not like one of
the nVidia OpenGL lib substitutes. The only downside I've found so far
is that some of the GLX screen savers often don't work.

Odd. I just upgraded from 44.96 to 53.28 and now all the screen-savers
work. :-/ Woo-hoo!
