It's ok thx anyway, i've just bought a 250gb DiamondMax Plus 10 hd on ebay.
I'll test it in a few days maybe on monday. I've emailed the giabyte team
and they said the ga-7vaxp supports 300+ hds although it is necessary an
update for all the drivers especially the bios and Via to get it recognized.

I don't know but at the same time I cannot see why it wouldn't. If in
doubt
perhaps you need to look up the VIA chipset specifications, and the
specifications of the Raid controller (I have forgotten who makes that,
which is embarrassing as I had one of those boards! Oops). My personal
feeling is that an ATA controller does not impose a size limit (on
partitions).
