Have you gone into control panel printers and checked to see if there is a
check mark beside printer is offline?

An HP printer that worked fine on other comps, plugged in a LPT1 port of

HP computer, no printing, no testprint, nothing wrong in the
installation...When you want to print (eg in Word) it says printer
inactive...and yes it's turned on ! and yes its being otherwise recognized
!
