That sounds like a plan.

Alas, further investifation revealed that the problem seemed to be with the
AGP fan.
Fortunately removing and reinserting it seemed to solve the problem.

IS it a built in GPU or an AGP card fan? There are solutions for cards,
too, such as replacing the fan with a Sunon fan or getting a zalman GPU
passive heatsink...
