Default Dual Core 2.10GHz: What is actual clock speed for each core?

I have an amd athlon 64 x2 dual core 4000+ 2.10GHz processor. Does
that mean each core runs at 2.10GHz? Or is 2.10GHz split between the
two cores (i.e., resulting in maximum clock speed of 1.05GHz for each
core)? TIA.

Each core runs at 2.10 GHz. There is a small amount of overhead
that sorts out what processes go to which processor, so the
theoretical maximum speed is a little less than would be possible
with a 4.2 GHz uniprocessor,
but the difference is trivial unless you have custom-rewritten
software for absolutely maximum throughput.

Cheers!
