are "specials", not standard off the shelf generic models. The special
OEM boards are often crippled versions of standard boards. The
exception is when Intel supplies the board, and it is often a standard

yikes! I would guess, then, that the "crippling" drops the price
that is charged to the OEM for the "special" motherboard. From
what you've seen, Ben, does this apply to Dell's motherboards as
well?
