DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF A AMD CPU IS FIXABLE?
They mught look ok on the outside but have they been zapped.... by
static electricity..?
The only way to check is to test them in a working machine, bearing
mind you will have to reset the CPU...

just installed a mobo but
The first goal is being able to get the bios to boot without the bios
nothing at all will happen, what happens is..
... you power the computer up, the bios does a self test if all ok it
will give...

Yoa have the ATI 9250 video card but what about the mobo, RAM and
CPU..?
First of all are you getting the single bios bleep when you power up?
Without this 'bios boot' or POST (Power On Self Test)...

GA-7VA Boot Problem
I use the same mobo...
Could I suggest try a couple of things, try unplugging the power cord
for 2 minutes or so and then try rebooting. if that dosen't help..
then removing the bios back up battery...

I can't say for your mobo but Rdebond666 is correct with my Gigabyte
mobo in that it will only accept 1.5V cards and not 3.3V...

Hell lotta problems!!
Why not let your friend try the computer a couple of day's and maybe
he'll let you try his this will prove a point.. it certainly sounds
like voltage fluctuations maybe a UPs will help out here....

Yes should be ok.... you can also use different ram's with different
speeds but it will only run at the lowest ram speed installed.

What about event viewer is error code not in there?
Wonder if it's the make of RAM... reason I suggest is that I use a
Gigabyte mobo and running it at full wacko specifies certain makes of
RAM...
