What happened to my SATA 750 drive

It hangs before it gets to the OS. There were too many drivers to
select from for me to chose which one to pick.

I didn't find a BIOS update.

I have a PCI Sil 3112A SATA RAID 14.2.47 1997-2004 Silicon Image Inc.
card with 2 ports. One port is an existing WD 500 the second port is
for a new WD 750
(I am not using RAID)
