After 5 years of using X2 4800+, does not E-350 feel uncomfortably slow?

It's slower at recompiling Emacs, yes. But tasks that were
instantaneous still are and those that weren't instantaneous...

Cool electronics with outside air via hose.

It does seem a waste to buy electricity to run a few computers, which heat
up a room, and then have to buy more electricity to cool the room. In
winter it's not a total waste but in summer you...
