Looking for cpu fan for 478
Newegg or E-Bay.
The Intel stock fans and heatsinks (with brass core) are actually pretty
good. But if you want to spend more, the Zalman coolers are usually
considered among the best.

where did my memory go?
Resource may, but does not automatically, = memory.
I don't know if it's an application that would particularly benefit from
a "lot" of memory or not. It may well be.

Something in your system is likely limiting you to 32-bit operation
(most likely either the CPU or the OS). This is 4GB. But the hardware
REQUIRES some memory space, which means that all of the...

Your original premise was wrong. It is perfectly correct for a
*Microsoft* 32 bit OS, when confronted with 4GB of physical memory,
to report only 3.4GB is free. This is an address space...

You are too unknowledgeable to be building computers.
First, there was nothing wrong to begin with. NO computer with 4 Gigs
of memory will recognize all 4 gigs; the video card and motherboard will...

Laserjet 4MP takes 5 minutes to print a page???
Forget about theory, in actual practice, many parallel ports can only
transfer as few as about 5,000 bytes per second. That is 3 MINUTES per
megabyte, roughly. At 600 dpi, you should be sending...

Some of the HP (and other) printers will be permanently damaged if air

Not for an AMD processor. But for an Intel processor, I have used a
number of ECS G31T-M boards (discontinued), and they are very good (use
them with a "Pentium Dual Core" CPU; I like the E6300...

I think that ruling out HP is a mistake. But, that said, very few if
any HP models directly print CD/DVD and duplex in a single pass.
On scanning negatives, that is not something that any AIO will...

The "UD" boards (ultra durable) have heavier copper (the traces are
thicker). Cracked traces are a source of motherboard failure. Thicker
traces are less likely to crack. Also, UD motherboards...

Some memory is normally required. Without memory (RAM) the CPU cannot
establish a stack and cannot execute subroutine calls (or, more
correctly, the returns from those calls). This will usually...

A video card is not required to "make it beep"; indeed, the lack of a
video card will actually cause a beep code error. As a practical
matter, however, a video card is normally considered to be...

many variables, and the fact that it's Intel to Intel...
