I remember about 30 or so yrs ago when IBM hired this little known guy to do an OS that would interact with and control several different storage devices. Not many gave the "little" guy much of a chance against the behemoth but he had smartly given himself the rights to the OS in the original contract.........:-). I promised myself to buy some stock in that guys company if he won that lawsuit......I never did...:-(. I thought there should be more protection for the people that actually produce something back then. Ed |

DDR technology predates the company by two decades, and they've been laughed out of courtrooms from San Jose to Frankfurt. |

Remember, just because Rambus files a suit, doesn't mean it will get what it
wants. There should be enough legal precedent (from past suits against Infineon, etc.) for the suit to be either dismissed or ruled in nVidia's favor. The validity of the patents themselves were in question, as Rambus seems to have discreetly patented designs that JEDEC had ratified as industry standards.
