ATI Raydeon Mobility Missing Memory

My IBM laptop seems to be missing some of it's video memory. This
machine (IBM a31 2652-d4u) formerly had 32Mb of video memory(ATI
Raydeon Mobility 7500), but now only reports 16Mb. I'm guessing this
occured about a week ago when the machine blue screened on me. I
didn't pay much attention to the message at the time, just rebooted.

I've confirmed the fact that I'm not insane by looking up the specs of
my machine at IBM, they report 32Mb of video memory. I've reset the
BIOS, reloaded the OS (w2k), used the latest drivers from IBM, and
used PCDoctor for DOS to check the video card. PCDoctor reports all
tests passed, and also says the card has 16Mb of video memory!!!

Where did my memory go???? Any ideas or help would be appreciated!
