Proliant 3000

Hi All,

we have a Proliant 3000/333 and want to upgrade the CPU but can't find any
switch settings for 412MHz.

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Libra Team

333 is the top speed for that motherboard.

You will have to replace the system board with one that supports faster
CPU's, and notably, a 100Mhz FSB.

Hi ,

Unfortunately your board is for 300/333 only . The 2nd gen version of
the proliant allowed 400/450/500 with one board , 550 with another and
600 with another. The memory used in this board is SDRAM PC100 ECC
not the ECC EDO PC66 like you have now. Also the VRM is different for
above 333 . SPS 179779-001 is the part number for a 400-500Mhz PL 3000
board and SPS 327660-001 is the part number for a 400-450 Mhz
processor (You need one for each processor installed) . Sorry to bring
you the bad news . You should get it off Ebay tho , Compaq's list for
the 179779-001 ?? $1,433,95 on Ebay it sells for about $60 .
