100% CPU in IE

When I listen to audio and use IE my CPU utilization goes to 100% and the
audio skips when I scroll. I have a 64 3000 with 512mb ram. I have tried
it with cool n quiet on and off.

OK, so I should have included some other information.
According to the CQ dash when I just listen to audio, like Rhapsody, CPU
speed is down to 50%. When I'm in IE it jumps to almost 100, and CPU
utilization does too.

I suspect you have some spyware/adware/trojan running in the
background.

Mine use to do that when opening explorer to view hard drive contents.
When I removed my storage drive (WD200GB) off my add on Sil068 controller,
things went back to normal.

It sounds like you may have browser hijacker-style spyware in your IE.
