AMD nF4 and nF4 X16 -- new unified motherboard driver V6.86
 

On July 7, nVidia issued a unified driver V6.86 for ALL nForce4 AMD
motherboards, including both standard nForce4 and nForce4 X16.

WHQL driver package for nForce4 AMD, nForce4 AMD/Intel X16
motherboards.

Installation Notes:-

Uninstall any existing nForce networking drivers prior to installing
this package.

( Ed: It is a very good idea to uninstall ALL nvidia drivers in
Add/Delete programs including the video one and cold-reboot the
machine before installing any new motherboard set. And to manually SET
A RESTORE POINT before taking any action with regard to this update )

Windows XP users must install Service Pack 1, at a minimum, prior to
attempting to install this package. Failure to do so will result in
the inability to support USB 2.0.

Installation of DirectX 9.0 or higher is required in order to use
NVMixer.

Maybe the new drivers fix the IDE problems experienced by some users
and the nVidia firewall file-corruption problems experienced by many??
