The Athlon 64 X2 3800+ is likely cheaper than the Athlon 64 X2 4200+ because
it's clocked 200 MHz lower than it's "bigger brother" ;)

Not realuy a problem it overlcocks to 2.4 ghz just fine :)

It's clocked lower. That's it. Small difference in speed, big difference in
price.

Make sure you want one for the right reasons (video/mp3 encoding, DCC). In
games dual-core has no benefit (so it's essentially a 3200+).

Looks like a great purchase... when readily available near the listed
price. Several on-line dealers are making out like a banshee by
overcharging by at least 20% for others in the X2 family. The problem
with red-hot products and still-limited-supply. Wait 2-3 months and
all X2 prices should more reasonable.
