Help Getting Parhelia Games to run Fullscreen at 1024x768

I did this in a reply to a nice person, just tossing a general cry for help to
people that game w/the Parhelia card.

Ok, will try again. Friend is having a problem with 99% of her games. She has
2 15" LCD monitors (Samsung 151-Ps) hooked up in digital mode to the card's
dual DVI on her Parhelia-512 128mb card. She is using WinXP and the latest
Parhelia driver version (1.04.03.005). She is also using DirectX 9.0b

Here's the problem:

NOTE: She is not trying to use just ONE of the 15" LCDs to run games on at
fullscreen 1024x768 resolution. 99% of the time, with the original Unreal
Tournament (not 2003) and pretty much all her games the game won't allow her
to go past 800x600 resolution. There's no option for 1024x768 at all (the card
supports it as does the monitors - this has been confirmed her native res of
the 151-P monitors is 1024x768). Most cases the game whether using OPENGl or
Direct3d won't allow her to play the games fullscreen at all, if they do, it's
really in a window that's no higher than 800x600 res.

Matrox tech support has been contacted and so far no assistance has been
given. If anyone has a Parhelia card and can offer aid, please let us know.
Heck, at this point let's see if anyone can help getting UT (not 2003) to ruin
fullscreen 1024x768 (patched to 436). Other games same prob, run in window
only not fullscreen and at 800x600 a Neverwinter nights, XIII demo, GTA3.

Appreciated. BTW, she can never do the dual monitor (i.e. 2048x768) mode for
gaming either since Windows won't allow her to do that either.

If you can help tell us how to fix the above problem, or game w/fullscreen on
2 15" LCD monitors that do 1024x768 each, we'd love to hear exactly how you do
this on Neverwinter Nights, the original Unreal Tournament (not 2003) and
GTA3. Thanks. Much prefer getting even ONE monitor to go 1024x768 fullscreen
though.

Problems like this are most often caused by having used the PowerDesk
monitor adjustment application. The monitor adjustment tool will create a
single custom setting for a resolution, which overrides ALL other settings
for that resolution, making them unavailable. This is a problem if a game
tries to set a specific refresh rate, or needs the DirectX default refresh
rate, and this refresh rate is not available for that resolution.

If this is the case, open regedit and navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11C
E-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000\Settings
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\MTXPARH\Device0

Remove any custom resolutions -- both the key name and data. Leave the
default settings in place (i.e. the Graphic.1024.768 and similar keys).

Repeat for 0001 and Device1, respectively, for a 2 monitor setup, and for
0002 and Device2 if having 3 monitors.
