hot-swap VGA Monitor Cable?
It's safe to do it occasionally. If you have to hot-swap the cable several
times a day, better to get a KVM switch. -- "War is the continuation of politics by other means. It can therefore be said that politics is war without bloodshed while war is politics with bloodshed." Is it safe? No. Is it commonly done? Yes.
The potential problem is related to the fact that two different power supplies are involved. Ground leakage may be different, and cause a problem if the computer and the monitor are not connected with a case ground (connector shell) before the active video and sync pins are connected.
