Silly question - can Epson C40 / C42 ink cartridges be re-filled ???

a charity near to me is using
a collection of Epson C40 and C42 printers

and the running costs are getting very silly

when I told them to try 3rd party compatibles
and / or refill empty cartridges,
they announced they had been told
"C40 and C42 cartridges CANNOT be re-filled"

( which was a surprise to me... )

I know that the C42 cartridges ( T036 and T037 )
have the "control chip", so a "chip resetter" is needed

( maybe the person who made this claim
didn't know about such devices... ??? )

so, if there is a chip resetter to hand,
is there any reason that C40 or C42 cartridges
CANNOT be reliably refilled

They can be refilled easily once you have a chip resetter.
