Dual Screen set up

I have 2 monitors connected to my nvidia GeForce 6800 but I can't
figure out how to display, say, games on one screen and perhaps a
spreadsheet on the other, I can clone the view, stretch it but if I
choose dualview i get one screen with just wallpaper on it and one I
can use. Any ideas?
Thanks guys

Dual Screen set up

In Dualview what you do is drag a program window over to the other
screen, usually the second monitor is on the right side (you change the
order if you need to). That is, grab a window with your mouse and move
it to the right over the side of the screen. It should appear on the
second monitor.

Games on the other hand often don't support dual screen, and even it
they do the games handle both screens. You cannot have a desktop open on
one screen and a game on the other (unless it's a "simple" game which
runs in a window, hence being part of your desktop).

You can when using two video cards (in Windows). I have no trouble
having a functional Windows desktop in the secondary monitor while
playing Age of Empires, Tribes 2, or Warcraft. If I want to click
around on that desktop while playing, I have to switch back to
Windows first, but the secondary monitor will display incoming
instant messages (for example) just like it would if I weren't
playing a full screen game on the primary monitor.

I was thinking the NVIDIA dual monitor output would allow for the
same thing. Thanks for the news.

Why not? I do. The game will take the FOCUS from the desktop, yes, but
everything is still there. I am using two LCD flat panel displays, but that
isn't as important as the fact that I am using Dual View, two monitors, one
video card.

I sure am glad that's cleared up. Will be nice using only one video
card. Thanks for the specific affirmation about using DualView.

You're welcome. At the moment, I'm watching The Fantastic 4 on my left
monitor and reading ng's on my right. The movie is full screen. There is
a lot to play with here with in the nView settings. My card has dual DVI
and VIVO, I've had it about two weeks and i have a LOT yet to play around
with. But in the meantime, I have things going to the display I want and
behaving like I want. Cool :) Hm... wonder how a third one would do....?
Once you have and use dual monitors, you won't want to go back to just one.
McG.
