GA-7VAXP rev 1.0, BIOS F15
Does anyone know if this board supports 300+ gb hard disks?
Specifically i wanted to buy this HD: HDD EIDE MAXTOR 300 GB 7200 RPM ATA/133 BUFFER: 16MB SEEK TIME: 9.0 MS Thx in advance. |

If in doubt perhaps you need to look up the VIA chipset specifications, and the specifications of the Raid controller (I have forgotten who makes that, which is embarrassing as I had one of those boards! Oops). My personal feeling is that an ATA controller does not impose a size limit (on partitions). |

It's ok thx anyway, i've just bought a 250gb DiamondMax Plus 10 hd on ebay.
I'll test it in a few days maybe on monday. I've emailed the giabyte team and they said the ga-7vaxp supports 300+ hds although it is necessary an update for all the drivers especially the bios and Via to get it recognized. Bye!
