interactive postscript printers by Allan Adler
According to the 1985 edition of Adobe's Postscript Language Reference Manual (the red book), "A human user can interact directly with the LaserWriter's POSTSCRIPT interpreter from a terminal and use the LaserWriter as if it were a personal computer." It then goes on to explain a little about how...

What is that absorbant material, and what can I reasonably replace it with? (Canon parts are probably unattainable, or prohibitively expensive) -- Gary J. Tait . Email is at yahoo.com ; ID:classicsat

Hi... I have an old HP IIIp. I recently had the fuser lamp replaced. Now I have a new problem. After the printer has been on for a short time, it goes completely dead. If I turn off the power switch and wait about five minutes and turn it on again, it will power up and work fine for a few...

Xante 8300 Ethernet problems by P. Moss
Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but here goes. I'm trying to help someone revive a Xante Accel-A-Writer 8300 on a Macintosh network. The printer has the standard serial, parallel, and LocalTalk ports, as well as an Ethernet (AUI) port. I connected one Mac directly over LocalTalk and...

Edible Inks - Gold, Silver & White by Martin
Does anyone know of a supplier for edible inks that are Gold, Silver and White? We already have a supplier for the four standard colours but are looking for these particular colours. Is anyone capable of producing such edible coloured inks? Looking for a supply of about 10 litres every 6 months.

Lexmark won't print by richmac
Ever since I switched to WinXp, my lexmark Z52 had been behaving badly. Among other problems, it now does not print in black, all I see are faint impressions. Prior to this it could still print if set to highest resolution, but from today, no more. I cleaned the print cartridges, black came out...

Repeated smudges by Terry Fcukwit
I just bought a secondhand Kyocera FS-600, which came without toner, so I also bought a brand new toner cartridge. The prints it produces are good, except that there is a set of identical smudges at approx 1 1/2" or 3cm intervals going vertically up the page, about a third of the way in from the...
