2600 XP running at 1262 on a GA-7VAXP Ultra? by
John Constable
I've run some diagnostic utilities and they report my CPU (2600
thoroughbred) to be running at 1262. My bios says (my FSB?) speed is 100. I
tried to change it to 166 and it failed to boot (rebooted on its own with
setting changed back to 100)
My questions:
1) can some recommend a good diagnostic...

8KNXP slow copying over LAN by
Scott
Hi,
I've had my 8KNXP running for about a month now. I have my old P2 200mhz
machine running beside it. Every night I backup 700mb from a 3rd computer
on the LAN. I have no other complaints with the 8KNXP other than the copy
time problem below.
With the P2 machine the backup takes about 20...

Sentenced to death? by
E_\\_¼__½__¾__F
Installed a new HSF application on my system tonite. found 2 capacitors
leaking on the mobo, bulging on top as if they're ready to pop (Gigabyte
7VTXE). So far it dont look as if they've dripped any dielectric onto the
mobo yet but getting close. no apparent problems as of now but for those...

GA-7DXE or GA-7VA ? by
Wolfy
I am in a quandry as to what to buy, either the 7DXE or 7VA. I know the 7VA
has USB 2.0 and and a faster FSB and takes PC2700 RAM, but I am really
strapped for cash and am using an Athlon 1.2 Ghz at 200 FSB anyway. The
price difference from Dabs is £9.00 and PC2100 ram is the same price...

GA-7VAXP Ultra Chipset Fan Noise by
The Maxx
My GA-7VAXP Ultra Chipset fan has started being really noisy. I took it off
and cleaned it out and that seemed to help a bit because it was clogged with
dust and dirt, but it's still really loud. There are times when it will
eventually calm down, but most days it just stays really noisy.
I'm...

GA-7VAX-A and an XP 2100+ @ 333 by
NuT CrAcKeR
Hello All,
I have been reading up on the B core t'breds, and the consensus seems to be
that most of them can run at 166 (333). The thing is, the 7VAX-A board I
have only has the switch for Auto/100. There is a place on the board where
another switch looks like it could have been placed... IF i...

upgrading to a gigabyte board - a few queries by
Iain Robinson
I'm ditching my Abit KT7-Raid and 1.1GHz TB and thinking of going for a
Gigabyte GA-7N400-L1 and a 2500+ Athlon XP (333MHz Barton core) with PC2700
RAM as it's a reasonably priced combination. I just have a few questions
before I get the credit card out;
1. Does anyone have any comments, good or...

GA-7VAXP and Windows 98 SE by
Ted Kulinski
I tried this board with an image of my old W98 SE system, and with a
fresh install of W98SE, and had all kinds of problems with stability.
Also, the sound would not work. (It worked fine on a Windows XP
partition, so I'm sure the hardware was OK).
I was just wondering if many people run this...

Memtest86 errors by
Boudewijn
Hello,
It could be that you need to relax the timings a bit with the second stick
in.
Are both sticks running fine separately, i.e. no errors in Memtest?
If so, try relaxing the timings and look again.
Regards, Boudewijn

Just had my new system setup with Xp with two SATA Raid drives. Ran

had to delete array and recreate it to get back about 112 megs of drive
space...
