6 year SOGA by
Boss Hog
Has anyone ever had any luck with a vendor over failed/faulty goods out
of the manufacturers 12 month warranty period, but within the 6 year
period specified in the SOGA?
Just wondering....

6800GT's by
Michael Rodgers
Hi all,
Trying to buy a GeForce 6800GT but doing so at a reasonable price is
prooving difficult.
Dabs have 3 cards that I wouldnt mind, all at about £270. But no stock dates
listed and no way of calling them to find out.
Everywhere else wants £300+ for the cards, except bizarrely PC World who...

7dayshop know what they are on about. by
John Hardaker
Asking 7dayshop if I need drivers for an item when installed on an XP
system.
When I said the answer was vague and I wanted yes or no reply. The reply is:
7dayshop reply : you do not ever need drivers for XP, sometimes you may need
to use them
Well, what do you make of that?

A couple of tech questions by
Abso
Hope no-one minds me posting a numpty question about memory - I can't
find an FAQ for this group so hopefully this is not frowned upon.
I have the pleasure of owning a Dell Dimension 8200 which was built
three years ago. It's now starting to creak a bit so I thought I would
look at popping some...

A good experience with a Nisis by
Bagpuss
My Nisis G6 USB tablet pen packed up , so I ordered a replacement
one. The new one turned up by return of post, but didn't want to play
properly (it worked but thought it was a mouse, i.e. faulty
transmitter). I gave 'em a phone call to check that was so and they
said they would put one in the post...

A question about boxes. by
Trust No One®
I notice that whatever the size of my order, the box that it ships in from
Ebuyer always matches its dimensions perfectly.
Somehow I doubt that they keep a vast set of boxes in storage of all
possible sizes :)
My guess is that Ebuyer and other larger etailers use some type of machine
that...

A quick poll about warranties by
Dr Teeth
Bought an MSoft mouse from Amazon.co.uk with 5 year warranty. Right
button on the fritz after nearly three years.
Amazon says I have to contact MSoft, on reflection, I feel that Amazon
(as the retailer) should deal with it. As warranty is 1 year, I don't
know if the law treats warranties over any...

A short ebuyer tale... by

Hey folks,
In the interest of balance I just thought I'd come on here and say
that on Thursday I placed an order with ebuyer for about 17 different
items, with a combined value of about £1100. I asked for Saturday
delivery.
All the items turned up on Saturday morning, complete, intact, brand
new...
