100Mbit LAN topping out at 10Mbit speeds? by
Cyde Weys
I'm having a weird problem here. I'm transferring a large file from
one of my servers (SCSI hard drive) to one of my desktops (7200 rpm hard
drive). I'm using all 100Mbit Ethernet cards and I have confirmed (by
looking at the switch) that everything is connected at 100Mbit. So why
is my transfer...

Alceryes
I've got 2 computers (1 desktop and 1 laptop). The desktop has the nForce2
chipset (NIC) and the laptop has a Linksys 10/100 PC card in it. All drivers
for both systems are current. All my cables are CAT 5e. I've tried both
going through my gateway and running a direct crossover cable but no...

1080p LCD to PC, cabling: VGA / SVGA / UXGA by
Dennis[_2_]
I recently switched to using a 47" LCD as my monitor. It's 1080p so my
resolution is 1920x1080
I'm currently using a normal PC cable, the same one I used for my old
1024x768 monitor. Things look okay to me. But I note that there are
different kinds of PC cables (HD15 / Sub D) . There are some...

120 WD is removable media? by
R. Wink
I've got a WD 120GB drive that XP home thinks is a removable media drive.
The box is a P4VMM2 with a 2.4 GHz P4 and 533 FBS; 544Mb of 266MHz Micron DDR memory; new M/B; new 400 watt P/S.
Before any changes, the HDD acted the same as now. Boot from CD, go to repair console and try to format the...

1200x1200dpi or 2400x600dpi laser printer? by
sk8terg1rl
Hi group,
I'm looking to buy a monochrome laser printer but I'm not sure which
resolution to go for. Presumably the nxm dpi notation is for the dots
per inch in the x-axis (perpendicular to paper feed) and the y-axis
(parallel to paper feed)?
Surely then it is best to have the x & y resolutions...

Just got one more HDD. The problem is that I can't seem to be able to
make 120gb FAT32 partitions anymore? Actually I can't get them bigger
then 32gb.
Yeah, I know that 32gb should be the limit, but hey I gots 3 more drives

128 MB RAM appears as 64MB by
Red Kite
HI,
I have just tried to upgrade a MS6178M motherboard from 64MB to 128MB or
196MB. using a PC133 128 MB Dimm.
When I replaced the existing 64MB module with the 128MB module the BIOS
comes up showing only 64MB. This is in either slot. Plugging the original
64MB in as well, and the BIOS come up with...

128 MB vs. 256 MB by
Chance
Hello everyone! I want to ask would it be better
to take a graphics card with 128 MBs of DDR Ram
or with 256 MBs of DDR Ram?? And is it true
that the 256 MB are much older chipsets than
those of 128 MBs? What difference would it
make on the performance?? Actually
I'm asking about R9800 Pro and...

128GB Flash Drives Any Good? by
[email protected]
I just noticed am abundance of large capacity (128GB) flash drives on
the market quite cheap. I guess I just missed them. I had trouble in
the past with the smaller ones, so I wonder if these larger ones are
worth a trial?
Anyone?
Thanks

128mb PC133 dimm vs. i810e chipset by
Jeff Bean
I have an old home-built machine based on a Q'Lity P3810E-T motherboard

two sticks of ram in this machine went bad (reports numerous errors in
memtest86), so I went out to CompUSA to replace it, taking my chances on

12v at 11.13v by
GT
Asrock 4CoreDual VSTA
e6400
2 DDR modules
7600GS passive (no extra power connector)
2 hard drives
1 DVD (rarely used)
3 fans on 5v rail.
Is 11.13V too low for a 12v rail in the above? What is the biggest 12v power
drain above - the graphics card?

12v automobile style cigarette lighter female plug outlet by
Stumpy
Is there a surface mount outlet which can be installed on the front of a
computer housing and use the internal 12v power supply?
This is to plug in a transmitter to play MP3s on the computer and send via
FM to a receiver.
I already have the Irock type device, need power.
