$50 for a BIOS update to make AGP card work? by [email protected]
Apparently on my Gigabyte 8IDX i845 board I need to update my BIOS to get an FX 5200-TD 128 nVidia AGP card to work. I bought this cheap card to troubleshoot a screen blanking problem I was having with my 2 year old MX 400. The screen blanking os gone (hooray) but I cannot install any drivers...

$50- add or replace? by Impmon
I currently have a single 7900gs and I could pick up a second 7900gs and put them in SLI mode (have SLI bridge) or I could sell my 7900gs for about 50 and get something much better than a dual 7900 for under $100. Suggestion? Thanks for advices.

% loss pc2700 over 3200, A64, 6600GT by Ed Light
Howdy! My Athlon 64 939 parts arrive today, to run very cpu-bound train simulators with my geforce 6600GT. I don't think my Corsair Value Select pc2700's will run dual channel due to one being single-sided and one being dual-sided. So I expect to lose 7% performance there. Does anyone know the %...

"Bad Pool Header BSOD - video card related? by Lukas Mariman
This may o may not be on-topic. I just experienced a BSOD displaying the error "BAD_POOL_HEADER". I was wondering if any of you have any experience with this type of error. Is this a video card related issue? Could corrupted or outdated drivers be the issue?

Hello! I have a XFX GeForce 6800 (AGP; 128 MB). Is there a way to tell how much performance loss I get when I see "GPU has lowered its performacne to a level that allows continued safe operations. You may notice a performance difference in some applications."? Screen...

"no video" message by PH
I was getting a "no video" message between the Windows XP loading window and the Welcome screen with all the drivers from 9/2006 to present and although not a big deal was a little annoying however it would always bootup to the desktop. The 8/22/06 drivers solved that problem . Has anyone else...

"nVidia activates a supercomputer in your PC..." by John Lewis
See:- http://www.tgdaily.com/2007/02/16/nvidia_cuda/ Please note the last paragraph of the article, specifically the last two lines. Seems as if nvidia has something even more spectacular up their graphics/computation sleeve for later this year. Might want to consider holding off on that 8800 (or...

"the melt gun" by Skybuck Flying[_7_]
Possible new idea for a weapon in (first person) shooters: "The melt gun" It would fire electron particles at targets which would nullify atomic attraction force which would cause object to fall apart and seem to "melt". This should be able to be achieved with vertex/geometry shaders to make it...

Hi there, I finally got my 'game-system' together yesterday-afternoon when I picked up my Club3D 8800GTX, an air-cooled reference design as far as I can determine. The rest of the system consists of an MSI P6N Diamond NVidia 680i mainboard, Intel Q6600 CPU, Western Digital 300 GB SATA2 RE HDD,...
