9600GT and 9800GT naming.. by
Conor[_2_]
Anyone who has been into computers long enough will remember the ATI
9600 and 9800 range of cards. Can't work out why nVidia chose similar
names.
Is it me or is this a golden opportunity for the Ebay scammers?

Quadro FX 1300 Gaming Performance by
Seth[_2_]
Yeah, I know its not a gaming card. But I use my system for both 3D
modeling & gaming.
I had this card in an old system and played a lot of Nascar Racing
2003 from Papyrus. I would get a very steady, and extremely fast
frame rate of around 200fps with all detail turned up to the max. It
was...

Is SLI worth it? by
Chris Blunt
I'm considering adding a second 8800GTX graphics adapter to my system
and running them in SLI mode. I understand the main benefit of such a
configuration would be for games, but I don't play games on my system,
and am unsure if it would be worth doing.
Would there be any noticeable difference in...

6800GT running too HOT by
Dan[_3_]
Greetings,
I've got a XFX 6800GT which is runnning at about 90C with no activity,
125C under stress, and 80C with the case open. This seems way too hot.
It's running on a Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 mainboard and the power from my
535W PS is 12.35V measured with a voltmeter. There is nothing blocking
the...

aegis physics by
plop!
See the new physics chip is out in the UK - will there be any benefit to
current games or is it a case of waiting to see what games are written to
support this new technology (and what ATI and Nvidia do)?

84.21 drivers: No fix for Dual-Core? by
pw
Hi,
I don't see any mention that these new drivers will resolve issues
with dual-core processors such as enabling Paint Shop Pro 9/X to
install, slowing down of certain games, etc...
So, I guess I still have to wait for newer drivers from NVidia? It
seem like an eternity since the last ones...

6600GT and 1920 resolution by
pixel
would a 6600GT be able to perform well at 1920x1200 resolution...?
(thinking about the dell2405FPW 24" LCD). mainly i'm concerned about
openGL performance in Maya, and DVD playback, i would want no jerkiness
for either application. gaming performance would be cool but not essential.
i know that...

Recommendations for buying a 6800 GT by
NoRemorse
Can anyone recommend some good brands of 6800 GT? Are there some brands to
stay away from? I'm not planning to OC the card, but factory OC'd is
acceptable to me (as long as the factory cooling is adequate and there's
some decent warranty on that). Right now, I'm considering the XFX GeForce
6800 GT....
