Duplicating files on another hard drive by
I have 2 hard drives--the main one and the backup. My music is stored on a
large file on my main HD (about 50GB). This file changes frequently as I
add and subtract music. What I would like to do is arrange so that the file
on the back up HD tracks the main one; every time I change the main...

Will a player switch between different compression types? by
Let's say you have a CD player that will play mp3 files; it will also play
wma files. Now let's imagine a CD-R with 3 hours of mp3 music, followed by
3 hours of wma music. Will the player seamlessly switch from mp3 to wma in
the middle of the disc?

incd odd behaviour by
Terry Pinnell
My wife and I both have PCs with XP Home, and both of us use ahead's
inCD. She copied some photos onto her inCD CD-RW for me to edit. But
when I inserted it in my drive, it opened with just one entry
'Non-allocatable space'. Back in her PC, it opened fine. And my inCD
CD-RW also opened fine in her...

Copying a damaged (but playable) CD - HELP!!! by
[email protected]
To sum it up quickly, I've done something stupid and need some help.
I've got a very rare audio CD ca. 1986 that I keep in storage for safe
keeping and play a CDR copy that I made. Well, the CDR that I made has
been damaged - the outter edge of the disc is missing a "chunk."
The disc still plays...

MP3 burning.... Advise appreciated. by
Jim
How do you set the order of songs to be played
back when burning MP3s to CDs or DVDs using the
Nero MP3 burning module? Nero seems to keep auto
arranging and burning them in alphabetical order.
What role does the M3U playlist perform in the
process?
Will files recorded with mixed bit rates...

The asterisk says you can't copy DVD movies with copy protection.
Do DVD movies without copy protection even exist?

Need advice on Cd recording by

Looking to record speech tracks onto a regular sized CD.
I would like to be able to record short blurbs, one per track, using a
microphone, onto a CD.
So the resultant CD will have, say, 80 tracks, identified by number so
that I can go to track #23 to listen to what I said via microphone for
that...

can electronics in a DVD burner go bad? by
Brendan R. Wehrung
The HP DVD/CD 300c burner that came with my computer is acting strange.
It has stopped working with some (but not all) of the CD-burning software
I use (specifically WinOn CD 5, which up to now had no problems) for
burning any data or audio. I can still use NTI Cd-Maker 6 to burn data.
Whe it...

DVD Burning 8x is Slow by
[email protected]
I have a Liteon SOHW-1673S DVD Burner.
Burning at 4x is fine, and takes about 12mins.
On 8x it is taking about the same amount of time maybe a minute
quicker. It seems the buffer level in nero is emptying too quickly
therefore making the writer pause for more data.
I am using sony media; I think...
