My laptop only will run on battery, it will not run in AC mode. It will run until the battery dies.

Should the microphone on my 3100 notebook be fairly sensitive? I have set the gain all the way up and shut off the mute. I have to yell into the hole or tap on the case to get much sound on the recorder. Anybody used this feature? Bob Fay
