Time to reinstall? Windows Installer Service could not be accessed! by
BillW50
I am working on a Dell XPS 400 which has Windows Media Center 2002

Ad-Aware 2007 wouldn't run or reinstall with Ad-Aware 2008. Got Spybot
installed and it turned up with "virtumonde.sci". Got rid of it which fixed
the...

suggestions for replacing DVD+-RW in Precision by
Giovanni Azua
hi,
I still have the notorious OEM Philips DVD+-RW DVD8631 in my Precision 670
system. I can't burn double-sided DVDs and it is a pain, theoretically I
could but in practice I have not been able to burn one successfully yet and
those double-sided DVDs are very expensive (and yes I have...

Dell Studio 1735 by
Information[_2_]
This laptop has some CD controls above the keyboard, and Dell indicates the
eject button is THE eject button for the drive. With a disk in, the button
is pushed, flashes white, and does nothing more.
The system is from Best Buy, so Dell will tell me nothing more. The number
they provided for...

OT, please? by
Mikie[_3_]
I have two Dells, both the 2400's. My subject is not about Dell PC's ,
however, but my utter frustration in trying to get any info from the
MS Windows XP, and the MS Digital Image 10.0 groups.
I was using MS DIGITAL IMAGE 10 to edit my digital pictures. For no
apparent reason, whenever I edit...

OS CD's shipped with Dell PC by

Is it true Dell no longer ships program CD's with the machine to be used to
restore in case of a HD failure? That would be a real bummer. Charles

Dell Outlet by
John Novicki Jr
Does anybody know the warranty period for computers from the Dell Outlet? I
see that there is a 21-day return period, but I don't see how long the
actual warranty is, if any. Any insight would be appreciated.

back and forth from her laptop. GX-280 goes into sllep/hybernate mode
regardless of Windows XP...
