Random reboot problems by
Cory
I am having a lot of problems with my system. I have been having problems
with the system randomly rebooting on me. I thought that it might be a
heat issue at first cause it was running a bit hot. I got a new Volcano 12
heatsink and I'm running at about 47-48 degrees (CPU temp) now but I'm
still...

ASUS A7N8X Deluxe vs A7N8X-E Deluxe? by
William W. Plummer
What's the difference between the two MBs? I have an broken A7N8X Deluxe
and a -E that works fine. The former has a "feeper" sound device and an
AGP warning LED and certain things such as the CD Audio header are in
different places. The CMOS setup on the -E seems nicer -- it has the...

Did my PSU just die? by
Ant[_3_]
I also noticed when the green power light blink/flicker like crazy, it
takes about 2-3 seconds to turn off/go away after switching the PSU off.
On 12/1/2009 9:39 PM PT, Ant typed:
Hello!
I came home to my already powered on old Linux computer desktop (leave
it mostly 24/7). I woke it up...

C: drive has continual errors found..... by
geronimo
I need to defrag the C: drive as it is about 24% fragmented. When I
try to play music or video, it is all choppy now, perhaps because
Windows XP is running so poorly now. Its a WD 120 drive, and the smart
drive monitor is not saying there is a problem with it. CHKDSK runs
and always finds some...

Could Memtest be wrong?? by
jake
I had a computer go into a pattern of restarts to the boot choice
screen but from there it could not go into safe mode and would
just reboot. I pulled the harddrive and put it in another system
and did a chkdsk /f on it and fixed several problems. Then it
worked fine. I decided on a lark just to...

Mike0000
I'm working with a security camera that's using this tiny rj-45 like
connector on its cable. Anyone know what its called? Its looks exactly

No luck with web searches.

Failing slim Samsung CDMaster 24E SN124--replacement reco? by
Ken
I have a Slimline computer the size of a pizza box that I purchased a
few years ago from PC Power and Cooling. It serves us well.
It has a Samsung CD Master 24E SN124 CD-Rom which is on its last legs,
however. It is an ATAPI slim optical drive and I think that it is
probably a notebook piece...

The system is Intel mobo D975XBX2KR w/ Core 2 Duo E6600 and video card

It copies the XP pro cd without a problem (horizontal bar at bottom goes to

ABIT AV8 3rd EYE & Enermax Noisetaker 470w PSU
Just bought these for a new-build. Problem is, the pinout of the 20 pin ATX

19 & 20) The Enermax has a 24 pin connector on the end of its cable but
comes with a 24pin to 20...

Large Hard Drive & BIOS upgrade problems by
Lago Jardin
Hi
My Boot drive is 60G and my old BIOS saw that OK and Fdisk partitioned it OK
some time ago.
For extra storage. I bought a Seagate 120G drive and my then present BIOS
would not see more than 32,248M of the new drive. I then used Seagate's DDO
which worked OK for a few days and it did enable me...
