Setup Error SU-0013 by
amkuntz
I am cleaning up my old G6-200 for my parents, so I wanted to start
fresh. Yesterday I used EZ Drive to reformat both the 8G (Western
Digital) & 3G drives (as I have done in the past with no problems)I
then installed W95 and then upgraded to W98.
Everything was working fine last night, but this...

res0r89p
Hi,
I've been looking (online) at the Gateway AR-230 outboard dvd recorder for
use with my Mini-dv camera and computer. Is this unit reliable, well
constructed? Anyone using it with his/her computer? Thanks.

What are the advantages of a 19" or larger LCD screen? by
Leer
Greetings,
I would like some comments, impressions, and thoughts about the advantages
or disadvantages of the larger LCD screens. The LCD screens are getting
larger and I do not quite understand what advantage these larger screens
have over the more "standard" 17" LCD screens being sold with...

G5 350 - does it have USB header? by
Denis Mahony
Hi,
A friend has a Gateway G6 - 350 . He want to connect a USB device. I've
suggested to him that he open the case and look at the Motherboard for a 9
or 10 header. He cannot see if one exists.
Anybody know if Gateway put usb on mobos without bringing them out to back
panels ?
TIA

Carol and Allen Bredt
I have a 700XL that is 11 months old. I am running Windows XP Home.
I often back up the My Documents folder onto to DVD-RAM. I use Windows
Explorer to do it. This time I got a message that there was a CRC error
during the write. I can no longer access anything on the DVD. When I try to

Has my G6-450's time come? by
Ed Barchetta
My configuration: G6-450 PII, 384mb RAM, 2 x 10GB hard drives both
NTFS, Windows XP Pro.
Well, it's been a while since I posted here with a problem on my 1998
GW but I had a scare with the old boy and think it may be the
beginning of the end. This started with a program I was running which
froze...

Solo 2500, Windows XP and the tap box (mouse) by
Bob Carlson
I'm not sure what they call the "thing" that performs the mouse functions on
a laptop, that you tap and slid. I just installed windows xp and it is
working great except for one thing.
I use to be able to scoll by sliding the curser over to the right and then
slid down (scroll) by sliding the...

Partitioning by
Joan F \(MI\)
I just got a 450X notebook and would like to partition the hard drive.
Should I just partition and do a new install of XP or get a partitioning
program? If the latter what program do you recommend? Am I likely to have
problems installing XP? This is my first XP experience, I am still running
my...

Gateway Solo 5300 Battery by
lyon_wonder
Hi
The other day my gf gave me her Gateway Solo 5300, 800MHz PIII laptop
with 128MB to fix since it refused to work without the AC adaptor
plugged in anymore. Well, after I plugged the laptop in I
deliberately unplugged the adaptor to see if the battery would hold a
charge, but it didn't and the...

Router Problem by

I have an SMC2804AWBR wireless router connecting four
systems (1 wireless and 3 wired). Today I couldn't log onto
the internet. After determining it wasn't Charter Pipeline's
fault, I tried Renew/Release on the Win98 machine. It
alternated between 192.168.2.101 IP address and one
starting with...

I have an SMC 2804AWBR wireless router 802.11g that's been

Today I couldn't log on. After determining it wasn't the fault of
Charter Pipeline, I noticed after Renew/Release on my Win98
system, it would bring up alternately...

I tried to do a PNP network setup a year back which really screwed
everything up so bad that I had to do a complete restoration on one of
the machines. Since then, I have gone broadband which means some new
hardware has been added. I'm thinking I have all that I need to try
to network the two...

I was looking a buying a scanner and have seen that there are scanners that
support USB 2.0 "Full-Speed" and those that support USB 2.0 "High-Speed."
What are the performance differences here? Are they that much different?
Now, I have a 700X system bought in 2/2002 and I am wondering if my...
