Not sure what the problem is but.... by
Skipai Otter
I have been getting a lot of loud fan noise coming from somewhere.
1. It's either the new Enermax 480W Coolergiant PSU.
2. Gigabyte's GA7-DXR northbridge fan.
But somehow I just can't believe that a 40mm fan could make so much noise
and vibrate the case where the cards are and underneath the...

GA-7n400 Pro and 2003 Server by
NuTCrAcKeR
Hello,
Has anyone been able to get 2003 server installed on this board, while using
the GigaRaid controller? I setup a floppy boot with the XP driver (thinking
it would be a better fit than the 2000 driver), but the windows setup tanks
on the floppy disk.
Thanks for any assistance,
- NuTs

GA-K8NS Ultra-939 & AMD fan by
biggcheese
I just bought the GA-K8NS Ultra-939 along with an Athalon 64 3000+ in
a retail box w/fan. When I hooked everything up, the CPU fan died
after about 10 sec. at the second POST screen. I took it back to the
vendor and after a lot of experimentation, and our 3rd GA-K8NS mobo,
we figured out that the...

7dxe doesn't find agp card by
Bernd Schubert
Hi,
anyone having an idea why my 7dxe board doesn't like my new radeon agp card?
An old tnt2 in agp-4x mode works fine with the 7dxe and the radeon card also
works fine in 4x mode in another mainboard (even older sis735 chipset).
When I plug in the new card, the system just complains on startup...

8GPNXP-duo-Memory Frequency by
research
Hello,
I have an 8gpnxp-duo with 2 corsair DDR2-PC5400 Modules(2X512Mb-matched
pair).
In the manual Gigabyte discribes how to set the memory frequency to 3 times
host clock, but in my bios (F5) I only see 1.66, 2.00 2.66 and AUTO.
When set to AUTO the frequency is 2.66 x hostclock(200Mhz) and...

I'm having a few problems adding additional memory to my 8IK1100 based PC.
When I originally built the machine, I put 2 * DDR400 512Mb modules in it
(slots 1 and 4, running as Dual Channel).
I now need to add an additional 1Gb into the machine, so have tried adding
another two 512Mb DDR400 into...

ITE Raid (Giga Raid) and Windows Update by

For those that havent been nailed by this yet, I offer some caution.
I have a 7n400 with the Gigaraid controller. While using the gigabyte
drivers for 2000, I ran windows update. I saw that there was a new drive for
the ITE ... so I downloaded it.
Well ... its the drive for the regular IDE...

I have a GA8IEXP rev 1.2
It used to have firewire, but all entries for it have disappeared from

Thanks.

Exploding voltage regulators by
/mel/
A crack, and the machine powering down, then a hint of fried semiconductor
in the air... it looks like one of the voltage regulators on my GA7VRXP has
cratered. Is this a common problem with these boards? I suspect one of the
nearby electrolytics has failed, and I think it may have taken the CPU...
