Quick question regarding adobe gamma/3deep etc and D3D apps by
+c0re-
Am I correct in thinking that with an Nvidia card, if I use a windows app
such as adobe gamma loader or colorific's 3Deep, it will also apply the
settings to direct3d apps? (games)
If not, what is the best way/app to do this (with)?
thanks!

Been out of the loop for a bit, a few simple questions! by
+c0re-
Hi all, I'd appreciate a little help clarifying the variants of certain
nvidia cards.
I know about the Pro (if it's still used) and the Ultra versions of cards,
but what's the XT mean?
Is a geforce 5900XT better or worse than a "plain" 5900?.
I'm thinking of picking up a 128mb 5900XT to replace...

I understand PNY is a no-no, how about XFX? by
+c0re-
I've never owned an XFX card, I've read a few posts here saying don't buy a
PNY and that's good enough for me.
I'm looking at an XFX card, how would you guys rate them in terms of
quality, reliability and tech support?
thanks for any advice!

where's a good place to pick up leaked drivers early? by
+c0re-
It's been a long time since I looked for these, I always used to get them
from reactorcritical.com but that site seems to have been taken down. Is
there anywhere else that's commonly used to get the leaked/beta drivers from
early?
I don't want to use those omega ones, just the regular nvidia ones...

Directx 9.0c - worth bothering with yet? by
+c0re-
I've seen a few places to download this from, I'm assuming it's a beta
release (ripped from SP2 beta). Anyone using it, and is it worthwhile? I
also saw it's next to impossible to uninstall.
thanks for any info.

AGP aperture, what's myth, what's fact? by
+c0re-
I've seen so many conflicting things about what size to set your system's
AGP aperture to, is there a hard and fast rule where you can calculate the
best setting based on your system/video memory, or is it really a case of
trial and error for different systems? I've had mine set at 64mb for a...

Getting Rid of Smoke Smell? by
-
I recently obtained an upgraded video card (a PNY Nvidia 6800 GT) to put
into my aging P4P800SE mobo. The card is great but problem is that the card
came from a computer that must have been used by a smoker. Its fan is
"spreading" the smell around. Is there anything that can be done to safely...

QuickTweak problem by

I use the NVIDIA QuickTweak program to switch between desktops. Or at least
I would if it would work adequately. The concept is fantastic and really
useful, except for, and this is why I'm posting, it seems that whenever I'm
browsing a webpage that uses any java (applets, etc) in IE6+,...

Hi the Core voltage for a TI4800SE? by
-- Chi-Square \(X²\) --
I am looking for a site that would tell me the core voltage for a TI4800 SE.
I am experiencing some graphical glitches in most 3D games that seem to go
away as I increase the core from 1.5 to 1.6. Hence, I am wondering if the
Chaintech TI4800SE voltage should not be above the standard 1.5. yet,...

Problems with GeForce 4 MX440SE 128MB DDR (Xtra Info) by
---]Rob[---
Hi again,
I've noticed that the drivers being installed by default for the card
are for the MX440, wheres I've got a MX440SE could this cause the problem?
(The Core & Clock frequencies are different between the two). How do I get
the nVidia install program to recognise the card...

Advice - to upgrade or not by
--Jerry--
If you have any GF4 card you do not need to upgrade your graphic card for
next 3-6 months and then a new GPU must appear. All games are running OK on
full GF4 cards (NOT MX!!!). I tested Radeon R9700 and FX 5900 and I did not
notice any improvement in speed in any applications. All that was...

5600se vs 5600xt by
-=Matt=-
Hi there all,
I'm wondering about something. In my PC nestles the fine figure of a
(quoting from the display properties) GeForce FX 5600 XT card. Now, having
done a little research (I can find little about it!), I can ascertain that
this is a cheapo, given a whack in the back of the legs, version...

Why are newer cards worse than old ones? by
-=Matt=-
In the 'old' days, when a new card came out you knew it would be better than
the old one. Eg. Voodoo2 was better than V1, Geforce 2 better than Geforce1
etc.
I don't understand how people can say, as I've noticed they do on this
newsgroup, that some versions of the GF3 are faster than some FX's?...
