Power requirement for H97-D3H motherboard by
Haines Brown
I expect to purchase this motherboard, but am unsure about whether I can
use an Enermax 450 Watt power supply I happen to have in hand. I don't
plan to overclock the board or use it for gaming. The cards are likely
to be a modest audio and wifi card, and there will be one or two SATA
hard disks....

Xpress Recovery2 problem by
James
I did this backup when I first installed Vista with all of the drivers &
updates installed. I booted from the mb disk, backed up, and all went
fine...or so it appeared. Today I decided to test it by hitting "F9" while
in the POST screen. Nothing happened. Tried it again, and again. F9 does...

Squeakin, whistling noise from motherboard MA78G-DS3H by
franz47
Motherboard MA78G-DS3H 1 year old, about 7 months only in daily use.
Since yesterday I hear a squeaking, whistling sound with constand frequency from
the motherboard. At first I was afraid the sound would announce impending
harddisk death but definitely the sound does not come from any moving...

They Hate Every Board by
[email protected]
I want to build an inexpensive system and have been looking at the
MA785GM. When you go online to someone like NewEgg, you invariably see
all the people that hate the board. This is true for every motherboard
under $100 from any manufacturer.
It is making me crazy. Any recommendations for a low...

EP45-U3DL w/XP: Enabling SATA AHCI? by
(PeteCresswell)
When I enable AHCI in BIOS setup, it provokes a boot loop in
which Windows (SP3) throws a Blue Screen Of Death for about a
tenth of a second and then the boot process starts all over
again.
Driver issue?
Somewhere I think I read something to the effect that AHCI had tb
enabled when Windows was...

GA-78LMT-USB3, no USB3 by
John
A friend has a system based on a GA-78LMT-USB3 (mobo rev 5.0) and
can't get any of his USB3 ports to work. The USB2s are fine, but the
USB3s, both on the front panel and the back panel, are not.
The ports have power -- when an MP3 player is plugged in, it charges.
But there is no data...

GA-EX58-UD4P memory question by
James
I ordered Kingston HyperX 1GB KHX16000D3K3/3GX (DDR3 2000) x3 according to
the mfg's QVL along with my UD4P motherboard. My problem is that the
motherboard (with F8 BIOS) sets the memory frequency to 1066 by
default...rather than 2000. My system is very stable here...no BSOD. But
whenever I set...

SATA-II ports on Gigabyte's own IDE/SATA-II Controller.
I'm only going to install one drive at this time. Are there any factors
which might affect...

DDR2 Memory by
Bill
I have a Gigabyte 965P-DS3 motherboard which I bought over a year ago to
support the Core2Due (2.4GHz). Back then, I paid quite a bit ($180, I
think) for 2 pieces of Kingston KVR800D2N5, 512MB DDR2-800 memory. It has
latency CL=5. I noticed I can get them now for under $30 a piece, but I...

How does Gigabyte do its naming by
Gorby
I'm a newbie to gigabyte motherboards. So far I have had no problems
with the board. I have a P35C-DS3R.
My prior motherboards have been ASUS. And I was able to understand what
the naming of a motherboard meant.
Please correct me if I am wrong!

Hi
I have searched around and did not find any overview.
But I remember that 780G is a very low consuming chipset. Right ?
I use it with a 4850E.
How about Nvidia ?

8KNXP ITE suffers BAD performance... by
modem
Earlier today I decided to do a comparison of the ITE Gigaraid IDE
chipset vs a standard Promise UltraTX2 IDE PCI adapter. I did this
after I read a few comments over the past few months that suggest the
ITE Gigaraid chipset is very subpar.
All of my tests were ran on a clean fresh Windows 2000...
