Linksys in 2003? by
micky
I'm looking for a wireless parallel print server and I found one on
Amazon and one on Ebay.
These were made in 2003 or 2004 when parallel printers were the norm,
and I'm wondering if Linksys had a bad year, or if it only applied to
their print servers.
The Amazon one was maybe a Linksys WPS32 at...

wireless print server by
micky
To connect a printer that's not wireless to a wireless network, one uses
a wireless print server.
But what about a scanner? Do those connect the same way, with a
wireless print server?

Does my UPS work? by
micky
I have 2 UPSes, both used, and one was marked Working when I bought it
for $7, and the other I might have gotten for free. I can't remember.
Batteries are not cheap of course. A couple webpages gave me the
impression that some people just buy a new UPS instead of replacing the
battery. ...

Skylake just turned into a DUD for me: No BMI ?!? by
Skybuck Flying[_4_]
Hello,
I just saw somebody on slashdot mention this:
"
From the errata:
Executing CPUID with EAX = 7 and ECX = 0 may return EBX with bits and
set, incorrectly indicating the presence of BMI1 and BMI2 instruction
set extensions.

How to enable 2 GB ram on Asus P3V4X motherboard ? by
Skybuck Flying[_4_]
Hello,
Today I loaded bios defaults on accident.
Apperently this causes the bios to revert back to 512 MB of RAM instead of 2
GB RAM.
I forgot what I did to enable 2 GB of ram ?
Maybe I flashed the bios ?

cmd.exe window? by
[email protected]
When I boot now (W7), I am getting a blank cmd.exe window that may be
a virus from what I read. I can't get rid of it. It persists no
matter what I do to try to remove it. All I can do is move it to the
task bar - at least that gets it off my desktop screen.
Suggestion?
Thanks

HDMI Audio Problem by
[email protected]
My Toshiba laptop has its HDMI port connected to a TV via the TV's
HDMI1 port. That port is selected using the TV's remote control,
which also is set to play audio on the TV's speakers, on which regular
TV broadcasting plays its audio as well. The latter works fine.
I want to play the laptop...

I wonder if someone here could answer a question about this NAS? I have

TOSHIBA_SATELLITE_L775D-S7340 died by
[email protected]
My TOSHIBA_SATELLITE_L775D-S7340 will not start up at all.
It was working fine 'til I tried to power it up yesterday morning.
Nothing. If I power up just from the battery, the middle of the three
front LEDs lights up - and the DVD drive blinks. That's it. If I
connect to AC with the adapter, two...
