Storing brains inside computer + Gaming = Ouch Horror. by
[email protected]
I just had a terrible vision of the futu
1. People's brains are going to be stored inside computers.
2. The gaming industry will make copies of these human brains and use them as "AI" for computer games.
3. Now gamers can fight against "real" AI and kill them inside computer games.
The...

GeForce 7800GT - latest drivers - TV Out Resolution issue by
rhox
I used to use my television (NTSC) as a second monitor, had it running
last night actually, and in the NVIDIA control panel I could change both
my monitor's resolution and my television's resolution independently.
Now, however, my only choice is to have both of them act as a horizontal
span....

PE cp too low in CoH. by
Skybuck Flying[_4_]
Hello,
The Panzer Elite in Company of Heroes is "overpowered".
Their infantry squads are too cheap "cp"-wise.
Meaning "command points".
The panzer elite infantry squads only cost 3 cp which is waaaayyyy too low.

No Display - Part 2 by
Travis King
Well, I went ahead and replaced the motherboard with another M2N-SLI. I
got the system back together. It is now giving me a POST, but it is giving
me an error, and I still have no display. It is one long beep followed by
two short beeps. From what I understand, this indicates a video...

Automatically select the highest refresh rate? by
Foke
When I put my current system together, Nvidia didn't have anything I liked
in the mid-price range so I bought an ATI 5770. It was an OK card, but
I've always used Nvidia products in the past and prefer their drivers,
plus the 5770 had a noisy fan.
Finally the fan noise got to me, and since the...

Nvidia 8800GT/GTS by
mcp6453[_2_]
While I know quite a bit about computers, I am certainly not up to speed
on video cards. Others have recommended that my son get an 8800GT or GTS
for a Christmas present. The recommended seller seems to be newegg.com.
The computer is an Intel DG33TL. It supports PCI-E. What is the
difference...

msi geforce fx5500 can't handle newer games by
Maxx Taxx
I have an AMD Athlon 1,33 Ghz with 256 MB RAM and recently bought a MSI
GeforceFX5500 and 512 MB Ram and installed it.
Playing older engine games is OK, like Morrowind and even Counterstrike
condition Zero (which I think is based on the older Half Life 1 engine) as
long as I play it in OpenGL,...

Star Trek Online + NoMan's Sky. by
Skybuck Flying[_4_]
Hello,
I was just making a little joke to somebody (an sto player) which went as
follows:
"To boldly go where everybody has gone before !"
Yeah... STO (Star Trek Online) really isn't that big.... it's almost
impossible for a player to truely discover something new.

Asus M2A-VM: Would a dedicated video card be an improvement? by
Igor[_2_]
I'm putting together a budget PC based on the Asus M2A-VM motherboard.
I'm going to load it up with 2 GB DDR2, an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+, and
the OS will be Windows XP (SP2).
This machine will *not* be used to play video games, but it will be
used for video editing and DVD authoring.
It's my...
