Hello All!
Having set up above system I am noticing that loads get very high according
to top/htop but the load is NOT spread between all the cores (it is an 8
core) with 16Gb (1600) Corsait Vengeance Pro Ram.
Is there a setting or two that is not correct in the UEFI bios or in the
Mageia v3 set...

x64 and optical drives by

Is there a setting in windows Xp x64 that chooses to turn off the
optical drives at any time??
I can boot my PC and have the use of the optical drives (CD, and DVD)
but if I go away from the PC and return later, (usually after the PC has
shut down the monitor (timed out)) the opticals might still...

ARGH, another incompatible softy package by

My old sammysung DVD drive finally bit the dust. A little looking and it
seemed that I was looking for an ASUS dvd drive.
Specs seemed nice the drive was stated as quiet, so I gets one from the
local store.
The disk has Nero 10 on it, cool I thinks!
WRONG seems Nero 10 is not windows XP x64...

Just tried to run Cdex and its complaining about not finding ASPI driver
Reinstalled a fresh download of CDex, same result,
Found the Install package for ASPI drivers thingy.
doesnt install,
Ok change the aspi_v471.exe to aspi_v471.zip and peek inside the download
